AUM, AUA and supervision: a guide to reported scale

Three real company publications show why asset definitions, reporting dates and organizational scope belong beside every headline figure.

A firm's reported asset figure is informative only when its label and reporting scope travel with it. The founding directory offers three examples from official company pages.

Three figures, three descriptions

Pitcairn reports $10B+ in assets under advisement, aggregating Pitcairn Trust Co. and Pitcairn Wealth Advisors LLC as of 31 December 2025. Bessemer Trust's key-facts page reports $250B in assets under supervision, without a measurement date identified on the reviewed page. Stonehage Fleming Investment Management describes more than $26bn in investment management and advice as of March 2025.

These are company-reported figures. The Review has not independently audited them. The descriptions do not establish a single comparable AUM field.

A comparison is not automatically a ranking

A side-by-side display can be helpful precisely because it shows the differences. Turning these figures into first, second and third place would imply a comparability that the source material does not establish.

Our comparison workspace therefore includes the asset definition, measurement date, reporting scope and source status as separate rows. It does not calculate a synthetic total or infer a portfolio return.

How to read the sample

Use the directory to understand the business and its reported scale. Follow the original source before relying on a figure. If a date or perimeter is absent, treat that absence as a limitation rather than a blank the model should fill.
